I find my inspiration from the land and natural environment of which I am part of. I love the colours and shapes of the Scottish landscape. I love the unusual light effects created in nature and interesting features like twisted wood or a pile of rocks. I particularly like to bring to life the shapes and colours of old farm ruins and crofts and old buildings. I enjoy painting once forgotten objects which can be brought to life by shape and colour. I appreciate the design quality and abstract quality that can also be gained from nature.
